A Sandy Creek man is accused of robbing a bank in Lacona

On Wednesday, a Sandy Creek man is accused of robbing the Pathfinder Bank in Lacona.(State Police, New York)


LACONA, N.Y. (WWNY) – On Wednesday, a Sandy Creek man is accused of stealing a bank in the town of Lacona.

Trevor Spooner, 26, allegedly came into the Pathfinder Bank on Harwood Drive shortly before 9 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.

According to police, he fled the bank on foot in an unknown destination.

Police allegedly identified Spooner after a lengthy search by comparing outside camera video with a description of the culprit from bank pictures.

Spooner was apprehended about 11 p.m. and charged with first- and third-degree robbery. He was escorted to the consolidated arraignment court in Oswego County.

The entire robbery money was recovered. The amount taken was not disclosed by the police.

At the site, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office aided state police.
