Due to power outages, Haut Gap Middle Switches to an eLearning Day.

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD): Due to power outages, Haut Gap Middle School will have an eLearning day on Wednesday.

Following severe rain and high winds that blasted across the Lowcountry on Tuesday, the Charleston County School District (CCSD) implemented a two-hour delay for its schools.

A message sent out by the district on Wednesday morning stated that the middle school still had no power as of 7:00 a.m., prompting the decision to switch to a remote learning day.

“We are grateful for our school team and families who are nimble in the face of the storm and its aftermath,” the district said in a statement.
