KVS class 1 admission process
All fresh admissions are taken in the first grade in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Whereas after this there are limited admissions based on the number of vacant seats. No admission test is taken. Admissions are taken in KV Class-1 in a sequential manner. All the sequences are given below-
First lot – 25% seats are filled under RTE rules. That is, if there are 40 seats in a class, then 10 are admitted under RTE. Which students will be admitted in this, it is decided by lottery draw drawn from the applications.
Second lot – The seats of disabled candidates of all classes are filled through lottery. In these also reserved classes get priority.

Fourth lot – After the third round, if the seats of the reserved classes remain vacant, then they are filled on the basis of the priority of the categories.
Fifth lot – Even after all these procedures, if the seats remain empty, they are filled on the basis of the priority list of the unreserved category. The vacant seats of reserved classes are left vacant.
Sixth lot – For these vacant seats of reserved classes (RTE, SC, ST, OBC), a new advertisement is again taken out by the concerned Kendriya Vidyalaya in August the same year. Offline applications are taken for this. This time, if the students are not found for RTE, then their seats are unreserved.
KVS Class 2 to 8 admission process
In these classes, the same number of admissions are taken on the basis of vacancy. There is also no test for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas from class 2 to 8. Priority Category System (KVS admission Admissions are given on the basis of priority category.
If there are more applications than the number of vacant seats, then students are selected from the lottery system. Here all the Kendriya Vidyalayas also have admissions in classes 6 and above under the Single Girl Child Quota KVS.
KVS Class 9 admission process
In Kendriya Vidyalayas, entrance test is taken for admission in class 9th. Different merit list of all the priority categories is prepared on the basis of this examination. Admissions are then given according to the order of the priority category. In the test, students are asked questions from Hindi, Maths, Science, English and Social Science subjects. The exam is of 3 hours, consisting of 100 questions in total. It is mandatory to score at least 33% to qualify. At the same time, the qualifying marks for SC, ST and Divyang category students is 25%.
