The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) in its apex council meeting to be held on April 16, after the Bihar Cricket League was organized despite the approval, could form a working group to organize T20 competitions in the country. The league was organized by the Bihar Cricket Association last month. The BCCI stated in the midst of the league that it was conducting the tournament without the necessary clearances but despite this the league was not stopped.

After the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL), state-level T20 leagues are starting across the country but most of them have come under suspicion of corruption, which is a new challenge for the new anti-corruption unit of the BCCI. The 14-point agenda of the meeting also includes the appointment of support staff of the Indian women’s team. The women’s team is set to play the Test for the first time in six years. He is expected to visit England and Australia this year.

It remains to be seen whether the tenure of head coach WV Raman is extended or the BCCI is seeking fresh applications for the post. Raman was appointed as the head coach in 2018. The BCCI may also take a decision on tax and visa matters ahead of the T20 World Cup to be held in India. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had said in a recent board meeting that it hoped the Indian board would get the necessary visa guarantee and tax exemption by the end of this month.

Apart from this, there will also be discussion on organizing the domestic session of 2021-22. Last season, the BCCI did not hold the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 87 years due to the epidemic. The ICC’s efforts to include cricket in the Olympic 2028 may also be taken by the Indian Board to take a final decision. If he supports the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics, then he may have to relinquish his autonomy and become a National Sports Federation. Apart from this, recognition can be given to the Indian Cricket Council for Divyang.
