Royal Challengers Bangalore young batsman Devadatta Padikkal has been in his home in Quarantine since coming positive on 22 March in the investigation of Kovid-19. His Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise gave this information on Sunday. The 14th season of the IPL will begin on April 9 with the match of defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

According to the statement issued from RCB, ‘Devdutt Padikkal was found positive on 22 March 2021 during the investigation of Kovid-19. He has since been on the quarantine at his home in Bangalore. As per the IPL protocol, he will be included in RCB’s bio-bubble if negative in RT-PCR test.

The franchise wrote on its Twitter, ‘RCB medical team is in touch with Devdutt to ensure his safety and better health. He is feeling good and we are waiting for him to join the team.

Twenty-year-old Padikkal was the top scorer of Aasibi last season. He had scored 473 runs in 15 matches. He became the first player to score more than 400 runs in his first season of IPL.
