Both teams played the last match in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Then India defeated Pakistan by 89 runs in the Manchester ODI. Rohit Sharma had scored 140 runs.

This year the T20 World Cup is scheduled to be hosted in India in the month of October. Regarding this, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani said that he does not trust the Indian government regarding visas. He told the International Cricket Council (ICC) that if the Indian government does not give an assurance in writing about the visa, the tournament should be shifted to another country.

The ICC is also constantly monitoring the status of the tournament. If India is not able to hold the tournament at the end of the year, the ICC will shift the T20 World Cup. For this, UAE has been kept as an option.

India-Pakistan relations are not good
Actually this year’s T20 World Cup was to be hosted by Australia. However, due to Corona, this host was given to India. Australia will now host the 2022 World Cup. At the same time, the relationship between India and Pakistan is not good. For this reason, the ICC is negotiating with the boards of both countries. If this does not happen, the tournament can also be shifted.

Our government did not refuse to play in India: Money
Ehsan Mani told the media in Lahore, ‘Our government never asked us not to play there (in India). We are ready to go anywhere to play as per ICC rules. We do not want to violate the rules. According to the ICC agreement, we want written assurance from the Government of India about the visa of our team and staff. Fans, journalists also have to give visas. ‘

Need assurance in writing by March
Money said, ‘The ICC told us that we will get this written assurance by December 2020, but it could not happen. After this, we again spoke directly to the ICC Chairman in January and February. We have also clearly told the ICC management that we need written assurance in writing by March. If it does not, we will demand to shift the tournament from India to UAE. ‘

Test series did not happen between the two teams for 13 years
The first bilateral series was played between India and Pakistan in October 1952. Since then, the relationship between the two countries has been volatile in the last 7 decades. The last series was played between the two in December 2012. Then Pakistan won the 3 ODI series 2–1 on their tour to India. The last Test series was held in November 2007. India then defeated Pakistan 1–0 in their home.

Both teams played the previous match in 2019
The two teams last came face to face in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Then in the Manchester ODI of England, Team India defeated Pakistan by 89 runs. The Indian team has not lost to Pakistan in the One Day World Cup so far.

Tax dispute between ICC and BCCI over World Cup
There is a dispute between the ICC and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the tournament. The ICC has already given a warning that if the Indian government does not give tax exemption, the tournament will be shifted.

Nobody can stop playing in World Cup: Money
Money said, “It has already been decided that if India is not able to hold the tournament, then the World Cup will be shifted to UAE. According to the rules and the law, it is our right to play in the tournament. Nobody can snatch it from us. ICC chairman also knows this thing very well.
