The photo is from January 2019. Asad Majeed Khan was then appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to the US. He had met Prime Minister Imran Khan before leaving for the US.

Pakistan’s ambassador to America, Asad Majid Khan, made a big request to the Biden Administration. Majeed said – Pakistan wants India to negotiate with him for peace restoration, but for this America will have to help. In the program of a think tank, Assad said – We want peace in our neighborhood. It is the responsibility of the Government of India to create a peaceful atmosphere for dialogue.

In the recent two months, Pakistan has repeatedly expressed a desire to talk to India. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi have twice openly appealed for talks. However, India has not yet reacted to this.

Advice also to Biden Administration
Majeed was speaking at the Stimson Center in Washington. He said- We want the United States to initiate negotiations for restoration of peace between our two neighbors ie India and Pakistan. It is the responsibility of the Government of India to create an atmosphere conducive for dialogue. So far, the Government of India has not given any reaction to this statement of Majeed.

In this speech, he said that for the restoration of peace in Afghanistan, it is necessary that the Biden Administration should also talk to the Taliban. We are trying our best to make peace there.

India accuses us
Majeed said- Pulwama attack occurred in India in February 2019. India accused Pakistan of this. India says that we have terrorist training camps here and 300 terrorists are taking training in them. The truth is that Pakistan is targeted for political gains in India. The Narendra Modi government did the same. It also benefited and Modi won the election. Our Prime Minister Imran Khan repeated the conversation for peace many times. We want business relations with India to be started. For this it is necessary that India will have to step back unilaterally in Kashmir.

Why is this conversation being heard
Apart from Imran, Foreign Minister Qureshi and now Pakistan’s ambassador to America are beginning to hold talks with India. The biggest reason for this is that the meeting of the FATF, the Financial Action Task Force, is starting in Geneva from today. It is believed that Pakistan can go from gray to black list and after that the situation of its bankruptcy will arise. Pakistan is flirting to avoid this and the government there is adopting various tactics for this. The offer to negotiate with India is a step taken in this episode.
