The ice between relations between India and Pakistan has started melting and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani PM Imran Khan are likely to meet soon. Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has initiated talks with India to clear the way for the meeting between the Prime Ministers of the two countries. The British newspaper Financial Times has made this big claim by quoting three sources directly related to this entire conversation.

The newspaper said that the United Arab Emirates is helping in this peace negotiation between India and Pakistan. Sources said that General Bajwa has asked India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to declare a fight in Kashmir. The newspaper said that the talks are taking place at a time when both countries have to reinvigorate their country’s economy amid the threat of corona virus.

‘Prime Ministers of the two countries may meet in the next 12 months’
The newspaper said that this conversation between India and Pakistan is allegedly being conducted by Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of the UAE. After their efforts, on 25 February, the two countries have agreed to implement the ceasefire effectively. As part of the next step, we can work together to protect the border from trade and corona. If all this was successful, the Prime Minister of the two countries may meet in the next 12 months.

A source associated with this conversation going on behind the scenes said, “Senior level talks are going on between Modi and Prime Minister Imran Khan to prepare for a meeting.” The newspaper said that General Bajwa has been insisting on peace with India ever since the state of Jammu & Kashmir was abolished as a special state of India. Last week Pakistan had announced import of China and cotton from India but succumbed to domestic pressure and overturned the decision.

Bajwa is longing to end the expensive military tension

Pakistan had declared that talks with India can only happen when India restores the ‘status quo’ in Kashmir. Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Pakistan Army has said that the news of General Bajwa holding peace talks is a bundle of lies. Meanwhile, an Indian official has said that talks are on and this statement of the Imran Khan government is meant to please the hardliners present here. Analysts say that General Bajwa is yearning to end the increasingly expensive military tensions with India. At the same time, he also wants to improve his relations with America.

It is also being said that infiltration activities in Jammu and Kashmir have reduced a lot now. Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani, said, “Pakistan is facing a crisis of credibility and it needs to be resolved to move forward.” In fact, Pakistan is constantly being suppressed under the burden of debt and the Imran government is not able to fulfill its promises. Under this pressure, now he has to restore peace talks with India.
