On April 5, a 27-year-old girl named Ejada Kanatbkova, kidnapped from work in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek, was kidnapped. According to the police report, three people forced her into the car and fled in an unknown direction. The family members searched the girl a lot, but she was not found anywhere. The family members, exhausted, sought help from the police in this matter, but no action was taken even after there was video evidence.
Dead body of kidnapped girl found two days later
Two days after the incident, the woman was found dead by car along with another male in a rural area near the capital city of Bishkek. A local shepherd reported that the car was spotted on April 5 and 6, but they thought it might be stuck in the mud. On April 7, when he looked near the car, he saw the body of a young woman and the young man. After which the police was informed.
People’s fury against the police after death
Police claimed that according to preliminary investigation, the man strangled the girl during the struggle and then committed suicide. The news of Aizada Kanatabkova being kidnapped and murdered shocked anyone. People are protesting from social media to the streets. Many have attributed this to Interior Affairs Minister Ulan Niyazbakov, head of law enforcement agencies, and Bakit Matamusev, head of the Bishkek Police Department.
Demand for resignation of government and police chief
