Based on the Modern love and relationship essence, Odd Couple is now availble on Amazon Prime
The Odd Couple was premiered at many prestigious film festivals around the globe and has received great reviews at its premieres. The male lead is played by Divyenndu Sharma, who became famous for playing the role of Munna Bhaiya on the web series Mirzapur.
Vijay Raj and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi star in the film, as does Pranati Rai Prakash. Praneet, an independent filmmaker, produced the film and Prashant Johari directed it. Praneet & Prashant co-wrote the film.
Story
Odd Couple is a comedy about love and modern relationships. The film’s story centers on two different couples who are very different but find themselves together through fate to solve their problems. Along with other actors, the film features Manoj Pahwa and Saharsh Shukla as well as Chirag Singla.
Piyush (Divyendu) is a young social entrepreneur who lives in the same building as Nivedita, a middle-aged divorcée woman named Nivedita. Although they may be neighbors, their fates collide when Nivedita’s ex-husband returns from Germany to ask her to remarry him.
The similarities in their addresses and names creates an odd mix-up, but the real problem starts when they all start to work towards a solution.
This is a very unique story that Prakash Johari (co-writer director) handles in a straightforward manner. He gives us everyday characters and relatable stories about urban India. These characters are representative of a broad range of society, from the elite, privileged, and independent to those who have come from smaller towns to make a living and find a job.
They include an estranged couple as well as young, free-spirited partners who are able to redefine gender stereotypes with ease.

Performance
Average to good performances. Vijay Raaz plays the role of an eccentric painter who is always brooding. It’s unclear if this is Vijay Raaz’s character or the general lack of interest in the film.
After a long time, it’s refreshing to see Suchitra Krishnamoorthi again. As a well-mannered, independent woman who is in tune with her surroundings, she is immediately likeable. Divyendu Sharma’s Bihari accent is charming, but it disappears when he speaks English.
Pranati Rai Prakash’s performance is not as good as the others. Manoj Pahwa, a typical sarkari worker who provides great comic relief, is hilarious.
Makers
Odd Couple’s makers wanted to make their film more accessible through an OTT platform. This was the first option for many filmmakers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The makers of Odd Couple shared similar ideas and want to reach a wider audience via Amazon Prime.
Prakash Jha, the editor of this film, says editing is his favorite part of making films. He describes it as creating a garland of hundreds of flowers by joining them together. He claims that he feels immense joy when he sees a complete film, where he has assembled all the pieces.

He says independent films are like a whole new world. Working on these films brings him great joy because it almost feels revolutionary. Srijit Basu is the Odd Couple’s cinematographer. He considers his experience working on the film a valuable learning opportunity.
Praneet and Prashant gave him this opportunity early in his career, which he says he is thankful for. Srijit said that it was an ongoing exploration, pushing boundaries and learning his craft through principal photography.
