Government Launches Machli Palan Yojana generating employment to 55 lakh people | Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana
PM Narendra Modi launches PMMSY on this Thursday in Bihar via Video conferencing. Investing and thus granting a total 0f 20,050 crores under this yojana is one of the major key point, this would lead to a surplus of 70 lakh ton of fish production. This will also create employment and provide opportunities to around 55 lakh people.
The main moto of this yojana is to increase and regulate the income of fisherman and fish farmer. Gradually it aims to increase the fish products upto 1 lakh crore.
While launching the Fishing Scheme PM said, these Yojana’s/Scheme(PMMSY) are meant to make our Villages strong from within and the foremost thing is to make India Aatmnirbhar/Self dependent in 21st century.
Fishermen Would get a new strong Infrastructure :
PM said that under this scheme(PMMSY) many facilities to strengthen this scheme has been launched in Patna, Purnia, Sitamarhi, Madhepura, Kishanganj and Samastipur. Mr. PM also said that it would provide a complete, easy and friendly infrastructure equipping the fisherman with modern equipment in order to compete in the current market. This would also lead and open them towards the new market. Apart from this the aim is also to inculcate opportunities via farming and other mediums. He also added that this is the first of the big type Scheme towards fisheries launched in the nation history since independence.
PMMSY – To double the fish export is the real target:
Mr. PM said that it’s target is to double the fish export in next 3-4 years, thus creating millions of employment opportunities in fisheries sector.
He further added that fish farming or fisheries highly depends upon the clean water availability, Clean Ganga river project would help a lot in this perspective. He also said that all the ongoing campaign towards clean Ganga project and campaign to improve river transport would be huge benefit towards fisheries. Mission Dolphin announced on 15th august would also have its positive impact on these fisheries scheme.
