Date Scheduled for Hearing to Determine Trump’s Eligibility for the Colorado Ballot

Trump’s Eligibility for the Colorado Ballot:- A hearing scheduled for October 30th will determine whether the 14th Amendment can be invoked to prevent Donald Trump from appearing on the Colorado ballot. This legal challenge has been brought forth by a group of voters, who are being represented by the watchdog organization Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

They argue that Trump should be excluded from the ballot based on a provision within the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits individuals who have engaged in insurrectionist activities from holding office.

CREW’s President, Noah Bookbinder, made the announcement regarding the October 30th hearing. In a social media post, he stated, “We will be presenting the case that Donald Trump is disqualified under the 14th Amendment at an evidentiary hearing in court in Colorado starting October 30. @CREWcrew and co-counsel look forward to presenting our evidence on behalf of our CO plaintiffs.”

The primary objective of this legal action is to secure a ruling from a judge that would disqualify Donald Trump and resolve the uncertainty surrounding whether his name can legally appear on the ballot in Colorado.

It is worth noting that if the ruling is unfavorable to Trump, he is expected to file an appeal, which could potentially escalate the case to the conservative-leaning U.S. Supreme Court for a final decision.
