Ukraine Strikes Russian Arms Depot Ahead of Talks With Turkey, U.N.

DESSA, Ukraine - Ukrainian forces claimed they struck an arms depot in Russian-occupied Kherson. Leaders of Turkey and United Nations were due to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss food shipments from Ukraine as well as the increasingly volatile situation at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

According to the Ukrainian military's Southern Command, it struck an ammunition depot near Bilohirka in the vicinity of the front line in fighting in the Kherson Region.

This latest rocket strike is part of a series that has targeted logistics in the Russian-occupied South. It was part of a strategy designed to starve Russian troops and force them to leave the area they control west of the Dnipro River.

The Ukrainian military had posted a video on social media a day earlier that showed the aftermath of a long range rocket strike on Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson region.

On Tuesday, pro-Ukrainian terrorists destroyed a Crimean ammunition depot, which Russia had seized in 2014.

As Ukrainian strikes inside Russian-held territory increase, Russian forces are attempting to crack down on pro-Ukrainian insurgents.

According to Russian state-run news agencies, a Ukrainian Army veteran was detained in the Kherson region for allegedly sending Russian bases and troops locations to Ukrainian forces.
