According to Sadhguru, there was a time when 365 festivals were celebrated in India, but now gradually the priority of festivals is getting lost.

By the way, most of the festivals in India are celebrated according to Indian month and Indian dates. But Independence Day is one of the few festivals that are celebrated according to the English date. The main reason for this is that this festival has started more than a few years ago and this festival is not associated with Indian culture but with the country of India.

Independence means freedom and day means day, that is, Independence Day means freedom day. That’s why I thought why not get complete information about why we celebrate Independence Day. Then let’s get started.

What is 15th August?

August 15 is the date on which India got complete independence. Independence Day is called Independence Day in English. If you are thinking that Independence Day is celebrated only in India then maybe your thinking is wrong. Every country has been a slave of some community at one time or another and in such a situation, the day they got freedom, they celebrate it as Independence Day.

This is the day on which Jawaharlal Nehru, who later became the first Prime Minister of India, hoisted the national flag of India from the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort. Along with this, he also addressed the people of the whole country. Independence Day in India is celebrated on 15th August . On this day there is an atmosphere of patriotism in the whole country because this is the day on which we got freedom from British rule.

It is one of the biggest patriotism days of India. The British rule was tyrannical to the clever and they tortured us for almost 200 years. But finally, we got freedom from British rule due to many sacrifices. The credit of freedom goes to every person who fought with his life for the country and got us free.

On the day of Independence Day, different programs are held in many places across the country. The more enthusiasm people have for Diwali, the same enthusiasm remains for Independence Day. This is the day on which every citizen of India takes pride in being an Indian.

Why is Independence Day celebrated?

Barring a few countries, there is no country in the world that has never been a slave to any community. Every country has suffered the brunt of slavery and some countries are still suffering this impact indirectly. There is no doubt that the British was a diplomatic country and because of this, he was successful in ruling many countries and plundering them badly.

Actually, the East India Company was thinking of doing business in India for a long time, but one of the most powerful sultanates in the world was established in India, the Mughal Sultanate.

The strength of the Mughal Sultanate can be gauged from the fact that at that time only the Mughal Sultanate was as far ahead as America is today. It is said that more than a quarter of the world’s power was in the hands of the Mughal Sultanate, whether in a military force or in economic condition.

When in Jung-e-Child, with the help of only 309 soldiers, the British thought of taking on the emperor Aurangzeb, they had to run away with their tails up because only one loyalist of Aurangzeb reached 40 thousand soldiers to teach him a lesson. It is said that there were about 9 to 10 lakh soldiers in Aurangzeb’s army.

But gradually the Mughal sultanate weakened and there came a time when only in the greed of some money, the British were allowed to do business in India. The British started doing business in India, but seeing the simple behaviour of the people here, thought that it is very easy to rob them and they started adopting their diplomacy for this.

In the beginning, by provoking Jahangir, the British started driving the Portuguese out of the way, who had come to India from a commercial point of view even before him.

About 1615 of the 1618 Roe British officer Thomas acquired the exclusive rights to trade Mughal emperor Jahangir and everywhere started to find our own factory. Gradually the company’s dominance increased and he started establishing his rule in India with his diplomacy.

The British rule only saw its own benefit and because of this, they started torturing Indians. Due to his increasing atrocities, there was a revolution against him in the year 1857 but it failed. But finally, after about 90 years, due to the sacrifice of the revolutionaries, we got freedom from the tyrannical British rule.

We got complete independence from the British on 15 August 1947 and since then till now we know this day as Independence Day. That is why we celebrate Independence Day on 15th August.
