A new poll finds that the majority of voters believe former President Donald Trump committed significant federal offenses.
53% of survey respondents in a New York Times/Siena College poll believed that Mr. Trump had committed significant crimes, compared to 39% who denied this and 9% who were uncertain or neglected to provide an answer.

Ninety percent of Democrats and seventeen percent of Republicans agreed that Mr. Trump has committed grievous offenses. A consensus of 49% of independents was reached regarding the assertion.

In New York, jury selection has commenced in the hush money case involving Donald Trump. After allegedly disguising an affair with adult actress Stormy Daniels through the submission of hush money payments as legal expenses, the former president is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records fraud. Mr. Trump has entered a not-guilty plea and refutes any knowledge of the affair.

35% of respondents to a recent AP-NORC poll believe that Mr. Trump committed an illicit act in the case. Half of the respondents stated that he would be unfit for duty if convicted.
According to the New York Times/Siena College poll, Mr. Biden is gaining ground on Mr. Trump, who in recent surveys has been ahead of the president.

The survey was administered from April 7th to the 11th. Presently, Mr. Trump leads by a mere percentage point, from 46% to 45%, with 8% of respondents remaining uncertain or declining to respond.
In late February, shortly before he assumed the Republican presidential nomination, Mr. Trump held a 48-to-43% lead.

It appears that Mr. Trump’s lead is narrowing as a greater proportion of Democratic voters who supported Mr. Biden in 2020 have switched to his side; thus, the president’s support is increasing among Democrats.
President Trump was endorsed by 97% of his 2020 voters in February, whereas Vice President Biden was supported by 83% of his 2020 voters.

At present, those percentages are as follows: 94% for Mr. Trump and 89% for Mr. Biden.
Despite the fact that Democratic candidates won the popular vote by millions in a small number of transition states, the 2016 and 2020 elections were decided by tens of thousands of votes in those states.
Although the race is becoming more competitive, the poll reveals that 64% believe the United States is progressing in the incorrect direction, and almost 80% consider the economy to be average or poor.
